Savitribai Phule Pune University proposes to offer Internship Facility to the students, pursuing various courses of studies/programmes in the University departments and, affiliated colleges and recognized institutions of the University.
The facility of internship will be provided by the University through the .......... portal on the official web site of the University.
1. Definitions:
- 'Applicant' means a student of the University Department or affiliated college or recognized institution of the University who desires to apply for the internship listed on the Site;
- 'Employer' means any organization/institution/company which desires to make use of the Site to post internship;
- 'Site' means ............. portal on the official web site of the University;
- 'University' means Savitribai Phule Pune University.
2. Procedure to Register:
- Students may apply for internship in response to the advertisements posted by organizations/companies/institutions on the Site, in the prescribed format along with the documents required by the concerned organizations/companies/institutions.
- To be eligible,the student shall be a regular student of the University or affiliated college or recognized institution.
3. General Terms:
- Use of the Site by Employers or Applicants constitutes unconditional acceptance of the terms and conditions hereinafter mentioned.
- These terms and conditions shall apply to the use of Site and do not alter in any way the terms and conditions of any other agreement the Employer or the Applicant may have with any other Party.
- The internship is neither a job nor a promise for job in the future.
- If any Employer uploads its logo in its profile or while posting internship offer, it shall be considered as the due authorization by the Employer to the University to display the same on the Site.
4. Obligations of Applicant:
The Applicant shall -
- Provide accurate, current and complete information about himself as may be prompted by an Employer in the application form available on the Site (hereinafter referred to as "Registration Data");
- Maintain and promptly update the Registration Data and any other information provided by him;
- Maintain the security of his password and identification;
- Notify the University immediately of any unauthorized use of his account or any other breach of security;
- Accept all responsibility for any and all activities that occur under his account;
- Accept all risks of unauthorized access to the Registration Data and any other information provided by him;
- Ensure that all his communications with other users of the site, either through Site chat or otherwise, are professional and do not contain offensive or objectionable content.
5. Obligations of Employer:
The Employer shall -
- Provide its accurate and complete details/profile and the details of the internship;
- Use the Applicant's data only for the purpose of internship and for no other purpose;
- Report to the University immediately, if he comes across any suspicious activity, content or behaviour on the Site by an Applicant or any other person so that necessary action can be taken.
6. Restrictions by the University:
The University shall not allow -
- Unpaid internships, except for NGOs/NPOs, Government agencies and some niche profiles (Law, Experimental Physics, Library Science and the likes);
- Training programs and any such program where Applicants are expected to pay a security deposit or an admission fee;
- Employers to charge money in any form (including test fee, security deposit, documentation fee, etc.) from the Applicants for offering internship;
- Internships in the field of modeling;
- Network Level Marketing (NLM) internships where applicants have to use their personal connections and personal social media accounts to promote a business;
- Any internship where there is a possibility of an Applicant consuming alcohol or smoking or inducing others to do so;
- Employers to promote explicit religious content, a particular religious personality or a sect, etc.;
- Businesses promoting, freelancing, dealing in gambling and other prohibited/illegal inappropriate activities.
7. Payment for providing facility of Internship:
The University shall offer the facility of Internship to the Applicants through the Site, free of cost, for Applicants as well as Employers.
8. Termination of User Account:
In case of breach of any of the terms and conditions of use of the Site, the University reserves the right, without notice and at its sole discretion, to terminate the account and/or to block use of the Site.
9. Rights to Website and Contents thereof:
- This Site is owned and operated by the University. All the content featured or displayed on this Site, including, but not limited to, text, graphics, data, images (photographic and moving), illustrations,
software and selection and arrangement thereof ("content"), is owned by the University.
- All elements of this Site, including, but not limited to, the general design and the content thereof, are protected by copyright, moral rights, trademark and other laws related to the protection of intellectual property rights.
- No portion or element of this Site or its content shall be copied or retransmitted via any means.
- All related rights shall remain the exclusive property of the University, its licensors or its third-party image partners.
10. Using the Website
- Employers and Applicants shall not use this Site or any content thereof for any purpose, other than the process of internship.
- Any use of the Site or its content of any of its functionality for a purpose not permitted by these Terms and Conditions, shall be the ground for the immediate revocation of user names, pass codes or other permissions that may have been granted by the University for use of this Site.
- Employers and Applicants are specifically prohibited from:
- downloading, copying, or retransmitting the Site or the content without, prior written permission of the University;
- using any data mining or similar data gathering or extraction methods;
- manipulating or otherwise displaying the site or the content by using, framing or similar navigational technology;
- registering, subscribing, unsubscribing, or attempting to register, subscribe any party for any the site if employers/applicants are not expressly authorized by such party to do so;
- Employers and Applicants shall comply with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, including but not limited to those relating to the internet, data, e-mail, privacy and the transmission of technical data.
11. Changes to Site Terms
The University reserves the right to change any of the terms and conditions contained in Terms and Conditions for the use of the Site or any policy or guidelines for the use of Site, at any time and at its sole discretion.
Any such changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site. Continued use of the Site by the Employers or Applicants, following the posting of changes will constitute acceptance of such changes by them.
12. Trademarks
The University name and logo contained in the Site are trademarks of the University and may not be copied, imitated or used, in whole or in part, without the prior written permission of the University. All other trademarks, names and logos posted by the Employers on the Site are the property of the respective Employers.
13. Indemnity
Employers and Applicants agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the University, its subsidiaries, affiliates, licensors, employees, agents, third party information providers and independent contractors against any claims,
damages, costs, liabilities and expenses (including, but not limited to, reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to any User Content that they post, store or otherwise transmit on or through the Site, their conduct,
use or inability to use the Site, breach or alleged breach of Terms and Conditions of use of the Site or of any representation or warranty contained herein, unauthorized use of the content, or violation of any right of any other person.
Further, Employers and Applicants shall indemnify the University, its subsidiaries, its affiliates and licensors against any loss, expense, cost or damage incurred by any or all of them as a result of breach of these
Terms and Conditions or unauthorized use of the content or the Site.
14. Severance and Waiver
No action of the University, other than an express written waiver or amendment, may be construed as a waiver or amendment of any of these Terms and Conditions.
If any clause in these Terms and Conditions are found to be unenforceable, wherever possible, it will not affect other clauses and they will remain in full force and effect.
15. Jurisdiction
All license agreements, use or any issues arising out of any activity regarding the use of the Site shall be governed by the laws of India and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Pune.
16. Disclaimers
This Site and its content are provided "as is" and the University and its directors, employees, content providers, agents and affiliates exclude, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any warranty, express or implied, including, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose.
The University will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use of this site. The functions embodied on or in the material of the Site are not warranted to be uninterrupted or without error.
The University makes no warranty that the Site or the content is free from infection by viruses or anything else that has contaminating or destructive properties.
The University uses reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy, correctness and reliability of the content, but the University makes no representation or warranty for the same.
Images of people or places displayed on the Site are either the property of, or used with permission by, the University.
The use of these images by Employers or Applicants or anyone else authorized by them, is prohibited unless specifically permitted by these Terms and Conditions
or by specific permission provided elsewhere on the Site or by a separate license or agreement. Any unauthorized use of these images may violate copyright laws,
trademark laws, the laws of privacy and publicity, and other applicable laws.
17. Dispute Resolution:
Any dispute or legal claim arising out of use of the Site by the Employer or the Applicant shall be the sole responsibility of the Employer or the Applicant, as the case may be, and the University will not be responsible for the same.
